How do you get a landscape light reading with the old large formats?
I imagine they had some form of light meter but you can't walk up to the mountain and put the thing in front of it's face. Was there some sort of reflected light reader back then?
Not just "back then", but practically any good hand held light meter made has the ability to also be used as a reflected light meter. It usually involves an adjustment of the white "light dome" to a different position to convert it to a reflective meter. With my Polaris meter, I just have to slide the dome from one side to the other to convert between ambient and reflective readings.
