how to start your own modeling agency similar to Victoria Secret?
i love to watch the Victoria Secret fashion show. so i was on youtube watching it and i was like darn if only i was tall enough to become a model like that but im to short. so i thought to myself what if i could start a modeling agency similar to victoria secret but not exactly like it. this modeling agency would be for short people. like 5'1- 5'6 or 7. and they would be modeling lingeria
Well for starters.. VS is not a modeling agency. Their models are hired from actual agencies. And to start this will be near impossible (nor would it be a good idea)
The initial funding that would need to go into this would be tens of thousands of dollars. And because this agency so new, you can easily expect a net loss for several years as companies have no reason to hire their models through your agency when they already have such strong relationships with other (and bigger/better) agencies. Especially because you stated that this agency would be signing models under the normal height, your chance for business has been even further reduced. Companies do NOT want to hire models under 5'7 (Some don't even hire those under 5'9, due to the demands of society)
I'll also point out that many small modeling agencies are not very successful.
Low profit --> Low pay for models --> Models leave --> No business
Many models working for small agencies complain about the lack of pay, often file lawsuits against their agency and only increases your liabilities. The outcome of starting a new modeling agency will only be negative.
Overall, poor business strategy.It's all about adapting your business to the demands of the public, not to the demands of the owner (You). Before you even consider a business like this, I suggest getting a grasp on the modeling industry as it seems as if you have no understanding of what people want in terms of a model.
Edit: The one chance you will have in having a successful modeling agency, would be to have connections with the fashion industry (Especially high fashion)
